Different Types Of Wedding On Offer
Weddings are ceremonies that unite two people in marriage. There is a wide variety of wedding traditions and customs all over the world due to differences in ethnic groups, cultures, religion, and social classes, but generally there are only four basic types of weddings.
The first type is known as religious wedding. Perhaps this type is the most common of all, since it’s natural for people with the same faith to marry. But for those who have different religions, this type of marriage may bring conflicts, especially when your partner refuses to give up on his faith.
Nowadays, this problem is being solved by most ministries to allow couples to get married even with different religion, though there are still very strict religions that prohibit this. The best thing to do then is to consult with your own Church in order to work out the harmonious union of two parties.
Money can also be a problem with this type since there are a lot of expenses to spend for in this type of wedding. Couples and participants wear gowns and rent choirs and catering services for the wedding.
The second type is known as civil wedding. In this wedding, state-appointed judges or marriage commissionaires are the ones facilitating the ceremony instead of priests. The couples often recite their vows while holding a pre-made script. These weddings may be luxurious or not, depending on the budget of the engaged parties. They usually take place in courthouses, though they may also be indoors or outdoors.
The third type of wedding is called a military wedding ceremony, which often happens in persons under military service. The wedding may take place in military chapels or even outside, depending on the agreement made. Sometimes, couples exit through the aisle while carrying a sword as part of the ceremony.
The fourth basic type of wedding is a non-traditional wedding. This is similar to a civil wedding, but it often takes place between people of the non-traditional religion. Sometimes it gives you the opportunity to be creative with your wedding ceremony, be it a civil or a religious one.
Some examples of non-traditional wedding ceremonies are double weddings, destination weddings, weekend weddings, and same sex weddings. Double weddings are wedding ceremonies where two couples get married at the same time. Destination weddings may come in the form of beach wedding, or one that requires the couples and the guests to travel at the same time. Weekend weddings are those which occur with common weekend activities like spa treatments or sport tournaments. Same-sex weddings are weddings occurring between two people of the same gender. This type is allowed only in certain states in the United States, and it is strictly prohibited in most countries.
